“In California, they don’t throw away their garbage — they turn them into TV shows”. This famous quip from Woody Allen’s film Annie Hall has heightened Godon’s curiosity and amusement. As the second largest city in the United Sates, it is not only a major cosmopolitan metropolis, but also a major point of entry into the States. With cheerful abandon Alain Godon paints the emblematic sites of this blotch of a city that stretches from north to south for over 100 kilometers.
