For one whole year before the open­ing of the Empire State Build­ing it was New York’s tallest sky­scraper. The Chrysler Build­ing glo­ri­fies the Amer­i­can Art Deco style of the epoch. Its arrow-​like spire con­sist­ing of seven stain­less steel arches glis­ten like sil­ver and it loses none of its power through Alain Godon’s interpretation.
