Grand Prix for the Artists of Tomorrow – Alain Godon Trophy
A urélie Poinat made her mark with the judges by creating an “intimacy of space” So what motivates Alain Godon (who also manages to round up all his relatives for the event)? An artist of some reputation who exhibits globally, a pictorial, innovative pioneer who could settle as easily into his art as others may settle into their slippers
He constantly lives life precariously and relentlessly exhausts himself for a cause that seems to completely take over his life, even to the detriment of his own financial well-being: boosting the careers of young artists! In a story of a love of art that started over 3 years ago in the town of Le Touquet, he has also managed to prove his organisational talents and received unanimous acclaim from the 448 pre-selected artists (with over one thousand candidatures): painters, sculptors, photographers, installation artists (installation is a contemporary art movement that creates a work of art by combining several mediums with the objective of changing the spectator’s experience within a single space or pre-set definitions), but, moreover, during the first weekend in July 2011, with the exception of the usual malcontents, the whole resort was treated by art lovers to a quality, global, cultural experience (which was also totally free for visitors and exhibitors).
