The world is his playground
H e has never made the headlines of Flashart, let alone Art Press and the world of contemporary art knows little of him, but he sells his paintings – at high, in fact very, very high, prices – throughout the whole world.
The list of collectors wanting to buy his paintings is getting longer and longer. Alain Godon (aged 50) divides his life and his work between Le Touquet and England, although he never stops travelling for his solo exhibitions: from Miami to New York, from Aspen to avenue Matignon in Paris. He is off to Tahiti soon to walk in the footsteps of Matisse in preparation for a new project — a dialogue with the works of this master — which actually will happen at the Matisse Museum at Cateau –Cambrésis, an international museum in its own right.
