Festival of Le Touquet – Alain Godon Trophy
T he brainchild of the painter-sculptor Alain Godon and organised in conjunction with the town of Le Touquet Paris-Plage, the Festival of Le Touquet– Alain Godon Trophy remains one of the cultural highlights of the resort that hosts so many high quality artistic events!
It has to be said that this 4th year of the festival held over 7th and 8th of July 2012 in the Palais des Congrès and the Hôtel de Ville has been a resounding success as an event with a really original concept of “one artwork, one chair”: it affords young artists the opportunity to exhibit, to access exhibition halls, to be in the media spotlight and is completely free of charge – and this year, from 1,000 entrants, 598 artists have been selected and brought together.
The enormous organisational workload can only be imagined for this altruistic artist, who estimates that each entry generates a minimum of ten emails which are then closely followed up. As ever, Alain Godon has mobilised his family and friends into action.
