Not to be missed: The little world of Alain Godon at the Museum of Le Touquet
The artist and sculptor Alain Godon, the resort’s “prodigal son” is exhibiting at the Museum of Le Touquet between 19 February and 18 March. “Extravanganza’s” intention is to surprise, overwhelm, captivate. Celebrating its centenary, the town is paying homage to the artist’s complete freedom; as an artist, he has succeeded in infusing a new magic into Le Touquet’s architecture.
Alain Godon, artist and sculptor, who spends his time between Paris and London, has returned to Le Touquet smiling broadly. “Extravaganza” will be launched at 3pm on 19 February with an opening ceremony and a signing session of his book of the exhibition together with its limited edition poster. This is a simple and touching opportunity to meet his fans and for his work to be seen.
In total, and in addition to his “BildoReliefo” (digital paintings re-worked by the artist), over 100 works will be on display. In the vein of the centenary celebrations, the goal of the Museum of Le Touquet is to exhibit Alain Godon’s paintings at their very best, in a portrayal that is an utterly unrestrained re-interpretation of the resort’s architecture.
