Alain Godon returns to his adopted town of Le Touquet with Extravaganza
Until 18 March 2012 Alain Godon will be exhibiting 120 of his paintings in “Extravaganza” at the museum of his adopted town of Le Touquet. A town that allowed him to flourish as an artist, and to which he is now paying tribute in this retrospective exhibition. With his colourful architectural vision, Alain Godon gives us the chance to discover the market place, the town hall and those places that so symbolise Le Touquet. Alain Godon is fascinated by urban life and the hustle and bustle of big cities: New York and its gigantic edifices, Paris and its famous monuments, like the Eiffel Tower and the Moulin Rouge. A blend of irony and humour infuse his paintings in the minute details, the characters come alive and imbue life into the stories told on these canvases. When we examine them more closely, we can perceive a visual narrative that has been executed with finesse.
