Alain Godon explains every angle of his work to pupils from the EREEM school
On Friday afternoon Alain Godon, the artist well known in the Montreuil community, met with pupils from the EREEM school in Berck. “He promised us he would, when we met him in the Museum of Le Touquet”, explained teacher Elsa Bodelot, one of the organisers. “The pupils who are really interested in his work asked his loads of questions. He said he would come to Berck and he has.”
Before he arrived, the pupils visited Alain Godon’s website and discovered his works; they also prepared questions and comments. Alain Godon very kindly joined in the spirit and gave straight answers that he peppered with anecdotes. If some compared his work to Picasso and to Cubism, others commented on the colours which are either very bright or black and white, that is to say no “middle ground”. “Art invents nothing,” stressed Godon. “Nothing changes, everything evolves”.
